Getting started with EventTix

How EventTix works
EventTix turns each event into a normal Shopify product. Every ticket type becomes a tracked variant whose inventory equals the ticket capacity, so your store can never oversell an event. Buyers purchase tickets exactly like any other product — through your online store, a shared product link, or any sales channel — and the moment an order is paid, EventTix issues QR tickets and emails them automatically.
That means there is nothing new to learn about selling: discounts, checkout, payment methods, and order management all work the way Shopify always works. EventTix takes over after payment — delivery, reminders, and door check-in.
Step 1 — Create an event
Open EventTix → Events → Create event. Fill in the title, description, venue name and address, the start and end time with the timezone, and optionally a sales-end time (sales stop automatically at that moment). Then add one or more ticket types — for example General admission and VIP — each with a name, price, and capacity.
Saving the event creates the linked Shopify product with one variant per ticket type. Capacity is synced to available inventory at your primary location, with overselling disabled. You can edit capacity later; the inventory follows.
Step 2 — Publish
A new event starts as a draft. When it is ready, publish it from the event page — this makes the linked product active so buyers can purchase. On the Free plan you can have one active event and send 50 ticket emails per month; the Pro plan removes both limits. Buyers who already paid are never blocked by plan limits — their tickets are always delivered.
Step 3 — Sell tickets
Share the product like any Shopify product: feature it on your online store, link it from social media, or add it to a collection. When an order containing ticket variants is paid, EventTix issues one QR ticket per quantity and sends the buyer an email with every ticket plus a hosted ticket page they can open on their phone — no account or app required for the buyer.
Step 4 — Watch delivery
EventTix → Delivery lists every ticket email with its status: Pending, Sent, or Failed. Failed deliveries retry automatically with increasing delays, and nothing is silently dropped — anything that exhausts its retries stays visible with a Resend button and a banner on the app home page. You can also search by order number, buyer email, or ticket code, and resend any ticket in one click.
In Settings you can set a sender name, a reply-to address so attendee replies reach you, an optional terms & conditions URL that is linked from tickets and emails, and event reminders — enter how many hours before the event starts, and each attendee gets one reminder email containing all of their tickets.
Step 5 — Check in at the door
On the event page, create a staff link for each person working the door. A staff link opens a mobile QR scanner in any phone browser — staff do not need Shopify access or an app. Scans are instant: a valid ticket confirms entry, a reused ticket shows a warning, and the counter tracks how many attendees are in. You can revoke any staff link at any time.
Send your door staff the door check-in guide — it explains everything they need in two minutes.
After the event
If you enabled auto-archive, EventTix archives the event after it ends and sets the linked product back to draft so it disappears from your store without manual cleanup.
Going Pro
Pro ($19/month, 7-day free trial) removes the event and email limits and lets you send ticket emails from your own domain — see the sending domain setup guide. You can upgrade or downgrade any time from EventTix → Billing.
